Trail Day and Poker Run in Review
This past weekend saw lots of activity at Moose, including a trail day and our first ever poker run!
MMBTS had their second trail day of the year on Saturday May 12th. It was an absolutely spectacular day, with literally no clouds in the sky. It would have been a great day to ride bikes, but nearly 60 volunteers showed up ready to do their part and maintain the trails. After some delicious coffee and snacks provided by the Starbucks in Coventry Hills and Tuscany, the workforce was split into teams and assigned to trails. Billy Dog received a crew to help out its very dedicated builder. Toothless had some finishing touches put on the filter stunt and the feature is now ready to ride. T-dub saw some love top to bottom in preparation for the upcoming race on the 26th of June. Others trails that were worked on included SLF, Pneuma, and Jean-Guy. At the end of the day everyone headed up to the 2k parking lot for a BBQ sponsored by Rat Racks. With the sun still bright and the trails in perfect shape there might have been a bit of post-trail-day riding happening too…
Big thanks to all of the hard-working volunteers who showed up on Saturday. Your help is invaluable to keeping our trails in good shape. Our next trail day is scheduled for July 21st at 7pm.
On Sunday MMBTS had it’s first ever poker run. Riders collected cards on each trail, collecting a total of five cards to make up a poker hand. At the end of the day the top hands were given the opportunity to choose a prize. Big thanks to all our sponsors who generously donated nearly $3000 in prizes. The weekend was a huge success for MMBTS, bringing in 35 new memberships growing MMBTS to just over 120 members. Thanks again to: Future Shop, Bowcycle, Tuxedo Source for Sports, MEC, Pedal Head, Mountain Bike City, The Bike Shop, Innovative Health Group, Lifesport, Ridley’s Cycle, Winsport Canada, Panorama Mountain Resort, The Cyclepath and Starbucks.
Thanks to Ridley’s Cycle for organizing a Trek Demo Day on Sunday as well. The opportunity to ride some of the best bikes in the industry on home trails is an opportunity very hard to pass up.

With the great weather this weekend it looks like summer may finally be arriving. Thanks to everyone who came out and participated this weekend, your time and support is helping to ensure another great season at Moose!
