Still snow through the cutline 1/2 way down the trail and another section with snow a few hundred feet into the second half of the trail.

The snow should be gone by the long weekend, but use caution when crossing these areas as there may be deadfall on the ground that wasn't moved from under the snow.

Billy Dog – May 13th

It snowed.  Again.  Snow cover at the top, and continuing nearly all the way down the trail.  Will likely melt quickly, but it'll be slick for a bit yet.  This trail is tight and has its steep bits, so slick is not usually a good condition to ride this trail in!

Billy Dog, Sunday May 17
Conditions were great. The work that was done on the trail day appears to be right…it's a little soft up top on the new stuff, but I guess that's what you get when you're diggin in frozen ground. Some touchups still required here and there. The middle section was better for the second run of the day as the thick layer of pine needles was getting ridden off and the dirt was getting exposed.

Apparently some people were ing that the trial was roached out or something (what the does “hagged” mean?) not sure how that's possible as it's a brand new trail. I guess I was lazy because I didnt have it groomed to A-line standards over the winter…[Image Removed by User]

Still some work to do on my part:
-I'll add some additional flagging for riders to find the way. I think some people ended up riding down the ravine with the water running down it…this isnt the way.
-Two spots where the snow was deep still need to have some logs cleared due to a late line change
-Couple mandatory drops are going to be turned into rolls.
-Just so everyone's clear, none of the jumps are going to be set until the line is determined and trail speed established. So no ing that it's not “done”. Do your part and get it ready to be done by riding it.
