August 18 Trail Evening Review

On August 18th MMBTS hosted its second trail evening of the year. The weather was in complete cooperation with the night, a pleasant change from the rain and snow we saw in the spring, allowing crews to complete work on Pneuma, Jean-Guy, Toothless and Race of Spades.

All together we had about 23 volunteers show up to help out. Special thanks to the 2 youngsters who helped out on Pneuma. It’s great to see youth getting involved with their local trails. The Pneuma connection between Elbow Valley and Sulphur Springs is gaining ground quickly and should be completed soon. Toothless received some top to bottom buffing and a nuisance berm was resolved. Jean-Guy saw some new jumps about 1/3 of the way down and Race of Spades received some much needed rock armouring near the bottom of the trail.

With the only causality of the night being a lone Pulaski, the evening was certainly a success. Huge thanks to everyone who took a night out of their lives to come out and help build, our trails would be nothing without your support.

Our next trail day will be on Saturday September 11th with our annual Toonie race on Sunday. Should be a fun weekend with lots of great biking, hope to see you out there!
