2012 AGM – Starting out with a bang!

About 150 people attended the 2012 MMBTS AGM held Friday April 13 at the GSL Chev City Showroom, why this location you might ask?  Well it wasn’t just because a show room was a good track for tricycle racing…but GSL Chev City  is providing an event van to MMBTS for the 2012 season, what a nice paint job!

MMBTS memberships were available for sale at the event, as well as MMBTS clothing. Mucho swag and abundant door prizes were given out by Dan from Columbia who overwhelmed us with prizes, as well as prize packages from Fortress Lake Retreat, and Fairmont Palliser.  Additionally two builders packs supplied by Bow Cycle went to dedicated trail builders.  Thanks sponsors!

The evening wrapped up with the annual spike driving contest, fun races and an opportunity to chat with fellow builders and riders.

For those who were unable to attend the meeting it covered last year’s activities and our outlook for the coming year.  Click here for the powerpoint, and here for the trail building movie .

Quick overview and next events:

Events – Our 2nd event of the year (after the awesome AGM) will be a club discount night at MEC, Thursday April 26, 6-9pm.  MMBTS members will receive 10% discounts off almost everything in the store!  Haven’t purchased your 2012 membership yet?  No problem, you can purchase it at this event.

Trail building – Our first trail will be Sunday May 6th.  Come out in numbers to give some spring love to your favourite trails, or help us build our newest trail ‘Family Guy’.  Calgary Cycle will be sponsoring this event and providing prizes for hard working volunteers!

Racing – Due to insurance costs, the fate of $2 racing on Moose was uncertain.  But thanks to the generosity of Calgary Cycle, always a great supporter of mountain bike racing, MMBTS will continue to host toonie races which will still cost a toonie for members.  Races this year will be held on weekends in June, July and October, exact dates TBA.  In addition a Provincial ABA sanctioned race will be held at Moose Mountain for the first time August 24-26.

Exec –Changes from 2011: Dawn Barcham - Secretary, David Barcham - Vice President, Rick Wiess - Director, full listings under ‘contacts’ tab on this website.

Keep an eye on our calendar to learn about future trail days, events, and races.  This season look forward to digging, riding and finding flow!

Big thanks to all our sponsors who made this event possible.
