Toonie Race Postponed to August 24th

Toonie Race #2 2016

Hi all. With a trail report from this morning as wet, 4mm of rain since then, and rain/thunderstorms for this afternoon we’ve decided to postpone tonight’s toonie race. That many people riding a wet trail has the potential to do damage to SHAFT which we don’t want. We’ve postponed until August 24th as next Wednesday the 17th we have an evening trail day. Hope to see everyone on the 17th for the trail day, and the 24th for the race.
Cheers.

May 29th, 2016 Ridley’s Cycle Trail Day

The trail day was a huge success with a total of 75 volunteers out at Moose Mountain.  The day was sponsored by Ridley’s Cycle, so a huge thank you goes out to them.  In addition to feeding everyone at the end of the day, anyone who attends an MMBTS trail day throughout the 2016 season will get a $20 gift card to their shop for each trail day they attend.  Thanks you guys!

A note from our newly appointed Trail Director, James Young:

I’d like to express my gratitude toward Ridley’s for the support and the awesome builder’s pack they gave me, and to all the awesome volunteers that were on 727. It’s a big project that will take some time to complete.  Now that most of the line is cleared our vision will soon take shape.

Toothless

Buffed about 3/4 of the upper. Some rock work and about 5-6 berms improved. The ladder drop at the bottom was un-nailed from the trees and put on a A-frame, and the lip was removed.

T-Dub

Some work was completed on the whale tail jump line.  It is still a push up from the meadow to access the line.

SLF

Lots of work done around the first rock drop.  The trail leading into the rock drop has been widened and the rut has been removed. Bottom of the drop run out has been cleaned up and berms have been rebuilt. About half of the re route has been cleaned up. The trail still has a long way to go before high traffic as the section right before jean guy is very ugly yet.

7-27

The majority of the volunteers went to 7-27 and it was a massive effort to complete several hundred metres of new trail on the lower section after the machine build ends.
